Holiday Decoration Contest
Do you love to see the neighborhood all decked out for the Holidays? Join the community in decorating your own house and grounds and you may win.
Your Board of Governors will be driving around the neighborhood looking for the best and most beautiful decorations. If you want to participate, simply have your house decorated by December 19. Judging will be the evening of December 19 and 20.
To make it so everyone has a chance to win, if you have won in the last two years you will not be eligible and you must be a member of the Association in good standing.
Sunday or Monday after the judging you may get a knock on your door with a beautiful surprise. Happy Decorating!!!!
Halloween Parade
Halloween would not be complete without our annual costume parade, complete with a police and fire engine escort. So many wonderful costumes, from princess to the very scary spooks. The top winners won TCBY gift certificates; they were Jack O’Hara, a bumble bee and Zofia Kurylowicz, a witch, ages 0-3. Christopher Esslinger, an Indian, ages 4-6. Gregory Griffiths, a jelly fish and Ryan Melito, an airplane, ages 7-10.
Our congratulations go out to all the participants – you all looked fantastic!
Directory Update
It is the time of year to update information for the fall directory. This is your chance to make any corrections to the information that is published in the Directory. Any misspellings, additions, changes or adding email addresses please let us know.
You may go in and make your own changes to your information or you may fill out the Directory Update Form that is available on the web site. We need to receive this information by August 1. That is the only way we can remain accurate.
Information should only be submitted if there are changes (corrections/updates) or if you are not listed in the 2008-2009 edition but would like to be included in the 2009-2010 edition. If you know a new neighbor moved in either let them know this form should be filled out or send an email to directory@pvvwca.org.
BUNCO!!!
Have you heard of Bunco? Have you ever played Bunco? Would you like to learn?
Bunco is a fast paced diced game that is a lot of fun. A few of us in the neighborhood have played and would like to get a community group going that would meet once a month. 12 people are needed to create the group.
If you are interested but not sure, we will hold a “Learn to Play Bunco Night” on Wednesday, June 17th at 7:00 p.m. at my home at 300 W Timonium Road. Please call and let me know if you will be attending – 410-561-1066.

Women's Group
The Women's Group is a group of women who get together monthly for a little socialization and relaxation. We meet at a member's house or another location where we have a small, informal meeting and then fun! We try to mix it up a little bit each year and add new ideas such as a monthly speaker, painting pottery, Ladies night at a local salon. Whatever the event - there's always an informal atmosphere of good food, and fun friends getting together to laugh and relax! Our group is a great outlet for meeting other neighbors, moms with children the same age so walks around the block and trips to the playground are more enjoyable!
Throughout the year we hold several activities for families as well as "just adults". We have an Egg Hunt, Women-Only Pool Party, Couples-Only Summer Gathering, Family Picnic, Scarecrow-Stuffing Party and a Women-Only Holiday "Gift" Exchange. We all participate in the Fourth of July Bike Parade and the Halloween Costume Parade (in conjunction with the Community Association).
Our annual dues are $1.00/month. We use our treasury money to purchase paper goods, beverages and craft supplies for some of our events. We frequently have a needy family or charitable organization that we will concentrate our efforts on during the course of the year.
We are a source of support and encouragement for each other whether it is emotional or physical. When a member has a baby, loses a loved one, or becomes incapacitated due to surgery or illness we bring meals according to the family's need for about two weeks.
We would love to have you attend our next event! Please contact us at the email address below if you're interested.

This February, some of the gals from the Women’s Group (looking beautiful in their scarves!) got together to make meals to ease the burden of their busy schedules. Between working, carpool and sports, sometimes it’s hard to plan - much less cook - dinner. Supper Thyme provided the perfect outlet for organized, simple meals that were easy and quick to prepare! While doing a lot of chatting and a little cooking, we nibbled on complimentary Molten Chocolate Cake and Spicy Shrimp with Goat Cheese - mmmm! There was a Prize Wheel with chances to win a free meal, appetizer or dessert so several of the girls went home with loaded bags of goodies for their families. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable way to cook dinner!
The day might have been overcast but there were many bright and sunny faces at the annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 6th. This year, Joe and Kathy Franz opened up their home for the Women’s Group event. Kathy and Joe have just finished some beautiful renovations on their home. A BIG thanks goes out to them for hosting the party and for leading the decorator house tours! (It is always interesting to see how alike on the outside... yet unique on the inside our houses can become.)
There was the usual "controlled chaos" as the excited kids scrambled for their hidden treats. After the hunt, the children played in the back yard and snuck little bits of candy while the moms and dads caught up with each other and enjoyed the delicious pot luck meal. It was another great event!
We will be having our annual couple’s party in August which is a great way to get acquainted with your neighbors if you are new to Pine Valley/Valleywood!
